I've been lucky to spend some time at the Port of Rio this year, photographing life as it happens in a place that has not so many tourists as the beach areas. It's a vibrant place composed of several neighborhoods, from the historic to the industrial to the , well let's just say challenged, it's an interesting and vibrant place. Here's a brief sample of the street life there.

A very typical delivery method method

A not so unusual courtyard

... and, finally, people waiting at the bus stop.

Nice shots. The desaturation isn't bad, but I'd also be interested in seeing straight B&W. Looks like a gold mine for street stuff--show us more. thumb.gif

thanks for the comments, it is a great place to wander around and I'll try to post some more in the coming weeks. I'm interested in the desat comments from everyone. what I've been doing is converting to b&w then lowering the opacity of the b&w layer to reveal a little color in an original color layer below, mainly for the color of street textures - paving and wall colors (I really don't like selective color as a personal photo rule). Maybe sometimes the color of the bricks etc isn't really worth revealing & I'm overthinking this. I'll post a few in b&w and see what everyone thinks.

I like the muted colors for this subject.
