Can't use D-pad while typing comment

Hi, Not a big deal, but I just noticed today that I'm not able to move the cursor with the arrows when leaving a comment in my girlfriend's Journal-formatted album. I don't know if it's specific to that style or if it's universal, but at least in hers, when I try to move the cursor, it still changes the photo. Shouldn't the arrow-navigation-through-images be stopped while using the textbox, so that you can move the cursor?
