mass deletes of SM galleries?

I'm entirely overdue to clean out my SmugMug account and set things up properly again.

Question is, I have a number of events posted. Which translates into sub-categories with 20-50 galleries in them. After deleting 40 galleries one-at-a-time, I decided there HAD to be an easier way (I think I have 200 more to go?), but I have not yet found it.

Any one? I'm happy to zap the entire category or sub-category and all contents, or a multi-delete on galleries.

:dunno so, please tell me there is an easier way, and how? (hopeful)

There is no tool to currently do this. I had to mass delete a couple of hundred galleries and wrote a script to do it using batch commands and wget--and it still took almost two days to delete them all. You can write the helpdesk and I believe they have a quick way to do it.

When I have time, I'm going to write something that will allow people to mass delete galleries. In the meantime, if you want more details on my script, just let me know. Good luck! thumb.gif

Okay guys at some point you have heard about Star*Explorer to do these things in the blink of an eye. Add multilple galleries at once delete an entire category if you like. Check it out it uses Smugmug API's to your advantage.. www.starexplorer.com Coolest thing is if you have something that has an API and you would like the functionality he is not above bribery to get it added to the program.. This is great for when things work perfectly. But 3rd party apps can be quirky and the API can be quirky. Better to have a native solution.

I own a license to SE, and have yet to get it to work perfectly on any computer I've tried it on. And Nikolai and have tried diagnosing everything. Your mileage may vary.

I have used Star Explorer for a while and never had any issues to speak of. One thing I do on my site is to make the galleries I no longer use private so they are still there if needed and it acts as a backup as well..
Star Explorer allows you to do that in mass as well. I have turned of entire categories of pictures by making the galleries below private..

    Hope this helps.
