My son recently swam at the 10&U state swimming championships (he's 9) and came back with a 6th place and 7 gold medals. It was fun to watch, and I'm normally too excited to take many photos of him. It wasn't always the best lighting conditions, but here are a couple. I could have cropped them down a bit more, but I kept them wide on purpose.

1 - medley relay exchange

2 - 100m breaststroke

Different meet, same venue...
3 - 100yd IM - butterfly

4 - 100yd IM - breaststroke

5 - 50yd backstroke

All shot with the Canon 7D and 70-200 f/4 L IS.

Wow - These are very nice. Some of the sharpest swim meet photos I have seen.

Thanks, all! This venue is great for photos because it's outside where it's usually sunny and you can get quite close, at least on one side and one end of the pool. This fall and winter we'll be back indoors where dim lighting and crowded pool decks make taking decent photos a lot more difficult.
