It's been a long while since I shared anything. (Sorry!)
Would love some feedback, crits, or just drop by and say hello
Thanks,

Took pics off this post and appended them to the first post for continuity's sake.

Thanks! Looking at these, I can see that I'm torn between two styles: the clean, contrasty lit images versus a more vintage natural light kind. I can't make up my mind I don't know if that's good or bad.

I did have fun But what made having fun possible was having an assistant present. Lugging a reflector and my quadra in an octa by myself = not fun.
Also, I just bought a lensbaby and it's been really awesome to play with. I lent it a week later to the other photographer who was assisting me with this shoot, but she promptly dropped the lens on the cement (not fun, that), and I can assure people that the lens can take somewhat of a beating.
1,3,5,6 are all from the lensbaby.
On a side note, I had the intention of using these to get into senior photography, but I think I only succeeded partway.

Thanks, Sam. I do have a tendency to overthink things :-)

Thank you so much, Brian! The toughest part was trying to keep our energies up. It's sweltering in Texas.

I do agree. Otherwise, I'll just be very, very selective in choosing one or two to show as a "senior" portrait. Or um say my niche is fashion senior portraits? Is there such a thing?
PS. Funny but she really is a senior. She just graduated this year! It's my fault, though, for selecting these particular photos to show. There are so many more photos, so I will just find ones that are more the age group!

Do I detect Lensbaby action in there?
Thank you Yes, 1,3,5 and 6 are from the lensbaby. I used the f8 disc because focusing was super duber tricky with the smaller apertures!

Yeah, I always shoot myself in the foot by trying to use my LB at 2.8. Nuh=UH!! Bad idea. I'm now remembering to keep it stoked with the f4 or f5.6 disk so I don't get caught out so badly....
I think this is a great set. The shots are airy and light...fun....full of her personality. Her folks and friends will love them. You should REALLY sell yourself for this type of work. SR clients are a blast. It's a great opportunity to really test your creativity and try new types of techniques, poses, and locations.
If you havent heard of them already...you should check out Tricoast photography. They have marketed Texas senior photography to the hilt.
