Here's a set designed by the model, a terrific German woman with a lot of European experience. We spent a lot of time sitting around waiting for some clouds to diffuse the bright sun, then rush out, click off 10 frames and go back to waiting.icon_wink.gif

Gotta be honest with ya here John. Although the lighting, posing, etc. is nice, I can't get my arms around these because of the location of the horizon in all the shots posted here.

To me, it (the horizon) needed to either come down some or not be there at all.

Can't argue with you Bryce. All personal preference. I left it in because Mary wanted the depth of the field (NOT the DOF) behind her. I believe I took it out in some of the others in her gallery.

    Thanks.

first association with #4 was "is she sniffing her arm pit?" 0_0

And, as Bryce mentioned horizon is bugging me..

    John,

Thanks for taking this in a good way. They are not stand out portraits and not your usual work. At times we all have a bad day......been there and done that many times and still do. There are many times in print competition that I thought I had an outstanding print and soon as it came up and the lights were on it I wanted to crawl under my chair. I don't know why I didn't see the glaring problems until then but it happens.

After looking at the session you do have some really nice work there. You were working in open shade and have modeling on the face and good poses. Photographing in open sun is a bear at best.

Fear not John, you'll get a shot at me sometime next week. AND... after all, as you said, it was a "set designed by the model". She should stick with looking pretty and let you do the "design". :D

Thanks for the gentle letdown guys.

As you see in the gallery, I'm much more comfortable using "open shade". Using direct sun -- not so much.ne_nau.gif

These open field frames were what the model wanted and probably would have worked better at 6:30 PM rather than 3:00 but that wasn't doable that day.

Here're two of my own choice open shade shots so that I can take all the blamemwink.gif
