Slideshow links for keywords

If I use a keyword search to narrow down photos I can click the slideshow button and get a lovely slideshow of the photos.

But using the share slideshow link to post elsewhere it creates a link to the gallery of the currently previewed photo's gallery not the keyworded photos.

This is somewhat annoying, I would like to be able to provide a link on other sites to the slideshow but I have to provide a link to the keyword search and instructions to click the slideshow button - given that the slideshow button gives the correct slideshow surely it should be possible to provide a share link which does likewise?

A keyword gallery such as this one: http://galleries.nickwphoto.com/keyword/besties is a temporary gallery so things like an embeddable slideshow do not work for them. What you can do is create a Smart Gallery on your site and have it include the keywords that you want. It will auto populate the gallery and you can then use the embed code. A Smart Gallery will do the exact same thing as a keyword gallery but it is permanent. Here is a Smart Gallery using the same keyword as above. I also added the embedded slideshow to the Gallery Description so you could see that it works.

You can make the gallery Unlisted if you do not want it to be public. That's what I did with the gallery above.

That does not appear to be the case at all..

The slideshow works just fine from the keyword gallery, it shows all the images containing the keyword exactly as I would expect it to.

I do not wish to EMBED a slideshow at all, although the ability would be nice to have and would be used I am sure, I am simply wishing to link to the slideshow on my smug site. However, the share -> Link -> Slideshow does not do what the slideshow button does, it links to a slideshow of the gallery of the current photo preview not the current keyword gallery which is the expected behaviour.

An auto gallery is of no use for this purpose, I would have to create an auto gallery for every keyword combination! If I am discussing rawfeeding and wish to show people my rawfeeding photos of Yukineko would be one, then rawfeeding and Toshiaki another, rawfeeding and spike...

I cannot see why the link cannot link to the correct slideshow, surely this is a bug?

You are referring to the Fullscreen Slideshow button. This has nothing to do with any embedded show.

Can we please forget about embedding slideshows, I never mentioned embedding slideshows in my query, embedding slideshows is at this moment in time not an issue..

I am referring to the slideshow LINK, a link to a fullscreen slideshow on my website..

If I go to Share and obtain a LINK to the slideshow it does not link to the same slideshow, it links to the gallery of the currently previewed photo, this is NOT what I would expect. As the slideshow button gives a slideshow of the keyword gallery then why can the link not ALSO give that same slideshow?

I discuss my photos in lots of places on the internet, facebook, various forums, discussing various topics. If I happen to be discussing flowers then I could share my photos with flowers by selecting the flowers keyword and sending a link to the slideshow, if I am talking about dogs then the dog keyword and link to the slideshow.. Does this only make sense to me????

I can send a link to the keyword gallery such as this..

And show my dog photos, brilliant, but smugmug is supposed to be about the photography not the site, and a link which gives the above photos in a fullscreen slideshow would be MUCH nicer. The slideshow button on the above linked page does this so why not the slideshow link?

It makes sense to me, too. I have exactly the same question.

The only way I know of is to use a Smart Gallery and then get the link for slideshow from the Smart Gallery, Share>Get A Link.

Also, SmugMug, there seems to be a bug. Start out in a keyword gallery and use share>get a link

That's not something specific to the slideshow link. The whole "get a link" feature seems to be gallery specific only.
I'm passing this on to our QA team for investigation. Thanks for reporting it.

Note that I can't say that I've ever tried to use "get a link" on a keyword gallery so it may not actually be the case of something broke, but a feature that hasn't really been implemented yet.
