Chinese Opera

This is the opera stage in the small water village of Zhouzhuang. It is a typical Jiangsu Province opera stage which differs from the more popular Peking Opera.

    Very cool shot, I like the red saturation/hdr & people in the doorway taking a break. Is this the watertown near Kunshan?

    No, this is near Suzhou. Between Nanjing and Shanghai

    I like what you have done with the post on this. Yet to me it almost doesn't look like a photograph anymore. I think it's moving into the painting, watercolor or charcoal realm. I am however curious as to what the original looks like.

    Wowzer. What a difference if only for the knowledge of what some post-techniques can offer up.

    And that ceiling work. Amazing how the post version brought that out.

    Thanks. I used photomatix for the HDR and then brought it back into photoshop for touch up

    I agree that the processing did a great job on bringing out the ceiling detail, but the red/orange in the processed version gives it an almost comic book look. If it were mine, I'd back off a bit.
