Bad hair day

Spotted this common wasp sitting on my car roof in rather windy conditions. Could not get to it with the camera but managed to persuade it to walk on to a leaf and I moved it to a wheelie bin lid nearby. Became apparent it was having a really bad hair day and tried to clean itself up for quite a few minutes before eventually flying off.

Bad hair days are a thing of the past for me. I'm beginning to look like smilies, and i'm loving it.

Great Series! When I'm photographing bees/wasps I'm not concerned by their stinging capabilities. It's when I don't have a camera in my hand that paranoia sets in.
