I find #2 the one to draw me in. I think it's due to the horizontal background lines and the use of sun/shadows. And it's a 'happy' shot.

Hmm...different strokes. #3 is my favorite of the set.

I like your version of "complicit portraits". They are all well conceived and executed. (I like the third just because it is such an intriguing shooting angle/result).

The question always in my mind on these is the limited response that the viewers have. Hmmm... that seems like an interesting person. I wonder who s/he is or...

I actually have a number of shots similar to these that I used my 135 x 1.6 crop to acquire ten days ago. Some I am pleased with, but wonder "what for?" if there is not enough background/setting to give greater context without using text. I imagine these to be best when doing a travelogue.

Thoughts on this and why you started your "complicit portraits" would be appreciated (and may provide an intriguing discussion topic).

Look, there's no real reason behind these shots other than opportunities that presented themselves as I was out doing other things. Sometimes they are "warm up" shots for a street session, other times the subject is just curious about photography and I snap a shot during the conversation. i do use the opportunities to practice with available light and composition and I pretty much never shoot with anything more than an 85mm on a FF body. In this case, these were shot with three different cameras all up close.

I do have a back burner project underway for the last couple of years that includes complicit street work, but I'm still figuring out what I want from it. The first of these shots could have been a part of it, but I don't think I nailed it.

Thanks Damon. I would have liked the first to have joined the "Two" project, but I don't think I got the composition right for that series.
