    Of the three, I like #2. It is uniform and has a great pattern. #1 seems a bit jumbled. #3 is nice, but I think I like the color version better. Nice macros!

    I agree that #2 is the best - the colour works better than B&W, though like the patterning better in #3. The small splinter is a bit distracting - can this be edited out? Great take on the subject.

    Kate, I like your current entry with what appears to be #2 rotated and some slight imperfections removed. Very interesting image with nice lighting.

    #3 reminds me of scanning electron microscope images of atoms... kind of a neat effect!

    #3. Color doesn't add much. The photo is more about form, composition and shades.

    I like 1 & 3 best -1 for its beauty and almost mystical quality; 3 for the visibility of its light and because the out-of place splinter seems important in it and not just random as in 2.
