the light is okay..the processing is okay..but you totally missed on the subject. either the kid needs to be looking at the camera or if not, then interacting with something in the frame. connection with the eyes is very important in these kinds of shots.

Last two are much, much better, especially #5. Only suggestion for #5 is to shit the crop a bit so he is more on the right 3rd of the image. I think that would improve the composition.
