What kind of spider?

Anybody know what kind of spider this is? It was about 4" across and the body was about the size of a marble.

a garden spider.. non-venomous..tons of them in iowa.

Argiope aurantia. A garden spider that I haven't ever considered poisonous - but not sure about that. Nice photo.
