I was able to go out to Sedona, AZ and the Grand Canyon in June, and just got around to working on some from Cathedral Rock.

The first three are mild HDR exposure fusions.

Nice shots! I just got back from the Sedona area. Beautiful place. I tried for days to get the rising full moon and the red rocks illuminated buy the setting sun, and didn't have much luck due to all the cloud cover this time of year.

Thanks for the compliment, but the feet in the 2nd are on purpose... I like them included for interest.

I think one of them is a bird, but I suspect the others are actually bugs. I don't have the tools yet to clone them out!

Thanks! I love the beauty of the area. I have only been there twice... but with family I couldn't really get out for the magic hours. All my shots from this trip are mid-day!

My guess is cicadas. They were out in good numbers a week ago and got into some of my shots too. Easy to clone out.

Thanks very much! I'm trying to experiment with HDR, and thought these turned out well... a bit saturated, but I think it makes 'em look better

Kdog - THOSE are AMAZING shots!bowdown.gif
I like the first - looks like it was taken from Half Moon Ranch?
This is with my old point&shoot from down there on my first visit in 2009.

Thanks! There's a little dirt parking area and a knoll on the left side of Upper Redrock Loop (I think that's what it's called), about a mile or two down the road. It was taken from there. I'd based that on the moonrise azimuth angle from a chart as being a good spot to get the moon over the rock.

I like that last shot! Great sky! I also love the shot with your feet in it. thumb.gif

    Cheers,
