Back now. I'm in New Jersey. It never fails. Around 11PM or later, just as I'm about to get caught up...BAM! Site down! It happens A LOT! I would get it if this was a new site, but it's not. Don't they have back-up servers?
    :(

They have really good backups of the data, but their serving infrastructure always needs constant work and has things broken all the time as they add new features that break other perfectly working things. It's annoying to say the least.

I hope they get to a point soon when they can get past these type of reliability issues. You can only go so far in business with an unreliable partner.

We weren't down last night as far as I can see (I was not online but I checked around) ... perhaps it was something else, I'd be happy to investigate for the OP.

I didn't see any outages recently, but I could sympathize with the OPs frustration. But it is assuring knowing that SM has never lost a thing. thumb.gif

Hi Al, I'm very sorry we upset you - we have regularly scheduled maintenance window on Thursday nights from 10pm PT to 1am PT. We don't use it every week, and we rarely use all of the time allotted. We usually give a heads up that we're using it on http://facebook.com/smugmug on http://twitter.com/smugmug and http://twitter.com/smugmugstatus and also on our status site, http://status.smugmug.com - but last night we didn't, due to something coming up very late on Thursday. We're very sorry.

Smugmug, for me, has been seriously ropey this weekend. The slideslow doesn't work and my website has been dropping alot.

Oh well. Updated for today. Maybe it'll be better tomorrow....

Cheers. I'll bare that in mind as it doesn't seem too bad at the moment.
