Headed off down to the Estuary business park again today (Liverpool). The intention to photograph more Damselflies or other insects. Almost dropped my camera when this beautiful dragonfly landed right next to me. I have never seen a dragonfly in person (< Sounds daft) and didn't realise how big they actually were!. I thought I had seen them in the past but obviously i hadn't . Have to admit, I was shaking taking the shots so I'm surprised they're even in focus!!

A crop of the above. Always gotta give the crops a go too
Oh, and finally a Yellowjacket Wasp that was nearby.

These are great. I just ordered my 50mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro and am so excited to get into the world of macro.
Once again I love the shots

I've been corrected elsewhere that it's a Female Emperor Dragon too, not a Southern Hawker (although I can't really tell the difference hehe)

I didn't realise you were from the Wirral, definitely within scope for a day out shooting sometime if you're up for it. I believe Parkgate has potential??
