    i was waiting for these

    just (re)bought - 20d (needed for backup and wife); 85 1.8; 15 fish.

$420 in rebates. $300 of that is on the 20d, taking the price down to $950 for a new 20D body - not bad at all!

btw, onecall.com is offering add'l $50 off of 20D price.

What a shock, not. Maybe Canon should just lease bodys to you, return it for a new one every 6 months or so.rolleyes1.gif

These rebates are really tempting. Pay bills or buy lenses, hard decision.

the 20d was always a plan. i like how the battery system is the same as on the 5d.

    i'm likely to ditch my 85 1.2 in favor of the 85 1.8 - the 1.8 is *that* good. we'll see :D

the fish? i just missed having it iloveyou.gif

    :help Oh year I forgot, there is now 150 A$ cash back on a 350D ... when yo buy for 1600 A$ (=1,250 US$) ne_nau.gif

Anyone wants to buy me a
    20D

    Andy,

Can you explain this trade? The 1.2 is an L lens right? What's the attractiveness of the 1.8? Light? Better distortion control?

    Shoot Me NOW!
Just my dumb luck! I ordered a 20D and a EF-S 17-85 lens on-line..... and guess when I ordered it??? oh yeah, OCTOBER 14th!!! After I placed the order, THEN I found out about the Canon rebates... I desparately called the store back to see if they could hold the order till October 15th, or at least date the sales receipt for Oct. 15th so I could qualify for the rebate.. and they said NOPE, it was already shipped out, and was dated the 14th.

Of course they said, when I receive it this Tues. I could refuse the camera, ship it back, get my full refund, and then REORDER it... but that is too much of a hassle... GROANNNNNNNNN!

Ya think Canon would forgive me for the rebate by just one lousey DAY?????

    Live and learn, Diane :cry

lighter, faster af, outstanding quality. excellent sharpness. great bokeh for portraits, as well.

here's an example on full-frame. note not only the sharpness & detail but also the lack of ca.

how to ensure getting your rebate
yes, rebates are a pain in the butt. i hate 'em as much as you do. but, hey - getting a 20d body for $950 new ain't too shabby. here's what i do to make sure i get no hassle from canon's rebate fullfillment company:

    1) cut out the upc / serial number stuff from the boxes
    2) attach to the copy you make of the warranty card
    3) make a copy of your receipts
    4) keep original of the receipt and warranty cards
    5) keep a record of your submission - i simpy take a photo of each page, it's a no brainer and takes 10 seconds :D

double check your work and you'll have no problem.

Does anyone know if Canadian customers can take advantage of this? I'm picking up a Rebel XT today and it would be nice to use it. I'd read the fine print, but I'm writing an exam in a few minutes eek7.gif

Do the rebates apply if you purchase > 3 qualifying Canon products?

Meaning if I purchase 4 items that qualify for the triple rebate, would the triple rebates apply to all 4 products?

Thank you for the link to the PDF Andy. It appears that you get to purchase 1, 2 or 3 items and receive a rebate. 4th-n items appears to be a no go.

I do have a big family though. thumb.gif
