GraphiStudio and template based design

Not sure this belongs in The Big Picture but here goes... I recently got an account with Italian book vendor Graphi Studio where I quickly realized the only product of theirs I could afford was their Senior Book line. It looks interesting. 8x8 or 8x12 (vertical), up to 30 pages, lay-flat binding, photo wrap hardcover, and these are not press-printed. Matte photo paper standard, with upgrades to gloss and metallic.

I've never used a template system for layout so I gave their software a spin. After designing a book for our baby girl in a very short period of time better than I've ever done on my own I decided to grab some track photos and give it a spin. The baby book looks great, and I hope to order a copy in the next week or so, with delivery about 4 weeks after that. Not sure I'll order this racing book but it was fun to try their software out. Not sure this really "works" with this type of photos but it was a fun exercise in learning their software.
