Going through a bunch of photos i never processed from Cabo. I straightened this one.. but still seems the horizon to be off.. or is it just my eyes ? Also, i try to lookout for the rule of thirds.. and being that the sun is centered, and even with the bird to offset it a bit.. does this work or no?

The rule of thirds also applies to a horizontal or a vertical line I understand.

In this case the horizon could perhaps be down some with less water. But those are just guidelines for composition.

I like the deep blue water contrasted by the sunset colors and blue sky above that.

I wonder how it would look if it was cropped some with the sun to the left some and bird more to the left?

Or perhaps the bird cloned out entirely. Lots to play with here.

I look forward to other more experienced photogs' comments.

    Agree.
Crop half the water off the bottom and it works.
But centered horizon and centered sun...not as much.
I would take the bird out....for me it is clutter. No doubt some people will like the bird there.

I did a quick look at your galleries - nice work. By the way, I understand original size photos can be stolen easily. Smugmug recommends using smaller sizes instead of "original".

Thanks for the input - here is one taken 1 min after (so didn't have to clone out the bird :D)
    Work better?

oh, and one more where i moved my center to not get the sun as primary and had a boat pass by, thought it came out ok, and wondering why i never did anything with it ne_nau.gif (although the boat is hard to make out).

I like the first version. Leave the bird and lose 1/3 of the water. Without a subject it's a postcard.

added one to the original post - shaved off a 3rd and maybe 10% off the left side.

Cropping out some of the water - much nicer.

I think your last shot without the sun is the best.
