Getting "Event Favorites" Back into workflow

Hello,
I have an issue with my workflow that involves using the "Events" pages (Pro Users) and Lightroom 3. What I normally do is upload the proofs (in multiple galleries) for a client, and then add those galleries to there "Event" page (i.e. Joe and Sue's Wedding).
After the couple is done picking their favorites, there's no simple formula (that I have come up with anyway) to get those selected photos (the names of them) so I can use them to filter in Lightroom, so I can then have a separate collection within Lightroom of their favorites photos. I know I cannot possibly be the only one with this problem.
My current workaround is to make all photos visible as thumbnails, copy and paste them into a text editor so only the file names appear, and then use the date/time (YYYYMMDDhhmmss) as the filer key. This has to be done manually and is very tedious and time consumer.
Does anyone have any better ideas?
Thanks,
Tom

Pros: faster than your current process. Gets at the core of having the favorites back in LR.
Cons: Potential storage concerns. Not quite what you were asking about. No fancy magic.
I'm looking forward to other replies - it's something I'd like to have also!
