Has anyone ever used "Send to SmugMug"?

:dunno Got this email from sm support:

Ben highly recommends Send to Smugmug for uploading loads and loads of photos. It's a program that you'll download and install, then right-click on any folder to have it sent to smugmug. http://wiki.shahine.com/default.aspx/MyWiki.SendToSmugMug

Before I just install something unknown, does anyone have experience with this??

Thanks

It made the cover of PC World two months ago and is used by thousands of our customers. I've never heard of a problem with it.

Thanks for the tip! - I just downloaded the application. The freeware part is definitely a plus! I plan to make a donation if I decide to keep using it after evaluation. If it's really that wiz-bang, maybe it's time for smugmug to make a little technology acquisition so that the broader smugmug user base can take advantage of it (I've been a smugmug user from the early days, and without this mention on DigitalGrin I never would have known about it). nod.gif

PictureSync works pretty nicely, I think.

I had problems with it a while back. I'll have to try it again.

You're right! It's working much better. I think it was still beta when I was trying it. So far, so good!

It's just a matter of the problems you're used to...

I use it all the time. The only thing I absolutely hate about it is when you intend to upload 100 photos, and only 99 of 100 were uploaded as per the ending status message....

It seems there is no easy/fast way to determine which photo didn't get uploaded. I wish it had a bit better error logging for us.

I use this program too. Its a neat app that has proven to be much more reliable than the drag/drop uploader on SM. The only thing that i can't figure out is how to upload individual photos. The only way i can currently upload a photo is to put it in its own folder and then select the entire folder and "Send to Smugmug". I can't right click on a photo and "Send to Smugmug". Can someone please verify if this is the correct way to use this program?

Currenctly you can only select a folder, but you don't have to upload all files from the folder, as you can delect the files you don't wan't to upload. Every file has a checkbox before the filename! mwink.gif
