Guerrilla Marketers say Follow-up is key. Do any of you send thank you's to your clients? When do you send them? Do you send them while you are editing the final product or after they have received their final order?

I usually send an email to my commercial clients within a day or 2 of the event with a link to some of the best images on a page on my website.

I always congradulate them on a great event, comment that the feedback i had from the guests was very positive and they all seemed to have a good time and although I was there to work it was a great atmosphere and enjoyable to work at.

Where appropriate I'll send them a disk of images be they part of the deal or for their promo/newsletter use and a print or two of them on the day which I make sure to capture.
Mag covers are great for this with some little in joke that always seems to come up with these events they can get a laugh out of or is flattering in some way to them.
Went to someones office i did an event for last year and they couldn't wait to show me the prints i sent them very nicely framed in pride of place in their office.
    Mission accomplished there!

Private clients I don't tend to do it so much as there usually isn't much to be said as a thank you I haven't said at the shoot. I tend to go more for some flattery and tell them I was looking through the pics and really love this shot and that I have attached and would they mind if i considered that as a sample shot for my wall or display album?
Never had a knockback yet and the clients always fweel flattered i'd want to put them on my wall or use them as a display pic.
It sure achieves the result i'm after!

My approach is very similar to Glort's. Although, I always include a few extra low res images in an email, with a note saying that they are welcome to share these on-line with their Facebook friends etc. - along with a remark about what fun it was to shoot them or whatever is appropriate.

How much effort I put into it is definitely proportionate to the amount of money they have spent with me or that I think they might spend in the future.
Creating visual and verbal images that resonate with you.
