A bird apparently approached the sliding glass door in our family room at a rather high rate of speed, and left this impression. No body parts, just a smudge.Large

I asked a scientist why they do this & he explained that it was common in birds that fly at high altitudes & are migratory. They come down to rest/drink etc & get disorientated with speeds & heights & thus crash.

Well I see where it's been is what I really mean rolleyes1.gif
I had a smaller impression on my back window from the Magpie chasing a Pidgeon :D the Magpie doesn't like sharing my yard.

When I put the bird seed out I feed the Magpie dog food cut into strips, but the Magpie can't stand the fact that the other birds come in and eat the seed rolleyes1.gif

It must be a territorial thing cause the Magpie doesn't eat the seed at all.

Wonder if your bird survived? I know the Pidgeon got up and flew away.

    Great Shot........... Skippy (Australia)

Nope, bird was resting in peace on the deck. The experience somewhat flattened it out. I think the impact must have been quite substantial given the nearly complete outline visible.
