Sitting here in central Tejas where the temperature is supposed to reach 108*F and nary a cloud in the sky, I can't help but think of our Street & PJ friends on the East Coast and what they're going through with Hurricane Irene. I've never met any of you, yet through this little corner of the internet there is a connection from your images, seeing life through your eyes, and enjoying your writings. I know there's lots of you on the coast and in harms way, so here's to sending some good thoughts your direction and a safe outcome for all.

If/when you have power, drop a message and let us know how it's going.

And bonus points for pictures. :deal

It's noon in northern new jersey and so far just normal rain. A lot of south jersey was ordered mandatory evacuations, which I've never seen happen before so I guess this is serious business. I live in a basement apartment that's had a habit of flooding under serious rain before so I'm a bit concerned but we'll see how it goes.
Also, probably not the most important thing to be thinking about but I totally wanted to order the Anderson Silva vs Yushin Okami fight tonight, but I'm doubting if I should because of near inevitable power outages.

    Hey Scott,
    I appreciated your concern.
    NYC was pretty much spared.
I went outside the morning of to see the damage and was met with a few fallen leaves and a small tree limb here and there, that's about it.

Meanwhile I sent my son to CT for his yearly weekly vacation and he has been without power for 5 days as of yesterday. He is loving it though, no tv, no videogames, no ipod. It has been like "the pioneers" he said. Up early, bedtime early, and monopoly and Parcheezy (sp) by daylight as well as stick ball (STICKBALL can you believe :)?) with the neighborhood kids. Though I'm thankful we got spared and I know others were not near as lucky, I am a little thankful that he was able to completely unplug like this. Thinking about sending him to Amish country next year for his summer break rolleyes1.gif.
Thanks again for the very nice thought Scott.

For the bonus points all I have is a prestorm SP-truth be told, I was scared, very scared and didnt' sleep a wink the night before this was taken.
Also for the detail oriented, I had lots of water and wine as well, just didn't photograph it all:)

    Liz,
Thx for the updates. And a bonus point for the picture.

And I'm quite glad the storm didn't live up to expectations.
