Explosive Rainier Sunrise

This was the sunrise last week at Reflection Lake in Mount Rainier National Park. One of the most insane things I have ever witnessed. Not only does it have a lenticular cloud above the mountain, but the wind profile around the mountain caused a cloud resembling a supercell updraft that we see with huge thunderstorms here in the midwest. This was taken at 11mm, so you can imagine how large of a scene this was in person.

This is a pretty amazing sky! My only suggestion would to be dodge the lake and trees to bring up some more detail. They are overwhelming dark compared to the great sky and reflection you have.

A fantastic capture, great color and reflection. I'm taking a day off this weekend and trying to make up my mind if i'll be hitting Rainier or the coast.
