I really like this one, Liz.thumb.gif The clipping of the heads and feet on some of the folks bothers me just a bit but the impact and dynamics of the shot are still very strong. I love your PP work on this one as well....it's more true to your signature style.

    Take care,

    Tom
I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

I see you've found the contrast preset again. mwink.gif

I love her expression but not 100% sure it works with the dudes. Oddly enough, it's more fun for me without their heads. The interest could be played with in the lower part of the frame.

Instantly recognizable (ditto on your contrast slider trademark...). Would like to see what the grey version looks like...:ivar

I find it amusing and well seen. My nit is the woman's gaze is misdirected for the shot to work better -- not something you get to control, but I would've gone "Darn!" if I snapped it as she turned like she did at that moment.

    Thank you Tom:)
I haven't done street in a bit, my summer spare time was taken up with my little league project and planning for my first wedding shoot (which was cancelled).

I wasn't feeling my first initial shots until I stumbled on this one and it just begged to be in high contrast. It felt good. thanks again!

EDIT: Tom--this was taken w/ a 25mm pancake lens at pretty close proximity. I had one shot before this I think with more of their body showing, but I did not like the expressions on the faces. This one was taken a second too late and I chopped the parts off. I knew it wasn't a perfect shot by any stretch--I just liked the weird factor. I still kick myself for not getting all the parts in.

Liz, Jennifer's right. It's a nice try, but there's no connection between the girl and the guys in front of her. Even if she were looking at them, which she isn't, I'm not sure there'd be the kind of connection that would result in the kind of story a good street photograph has, at least, to imply. In the end, it's a picture of people walking down a street, though the girl might be a story in herself. It's a worthy try. Keep trying.

    lol--yes I did. Thanks Jenn.
The shot just had a weird vibe for me and that's what made me pick this particular shot.

bite your tongue on the grey version.

You know, I have to look at home, I believe I have two shots of this--one where she is looking straight ahead (taken a moment before this) and this one. I liked the odd look on her face--what is she looking at?

Now I have to go and do a search.

    Thanks Rainbow.

    Hi there,
I don't really know you yet, but I like your street shots on your album and well you know what you are talking about judging from your shots.

You are right in that I missed it on this one. I do have a tendancy to go for the "people walking down the street" shot--if it's confession time, I will say that it makes for an easy shot and you can sometimes get lucky and it warms me up a bit to go for more substantial shots (not on this particular day though rolleyes1.gif).

I have also not been street shooting as much as I used to and this was an easy way back in. The only reason I chose the shot was because of the "weirdness". It was the girl that attracted me to this shot.

    Thanks for commenting.

    Liz, sorry for the hijack.

Russ, it's time for you to dive in and start sharing. Not every shot has to be artistic here. It's more of a free for all. The whole Street & PJ nomenclature is off, its all about the candid. Lift the discussion, as it were, through images. The dialogue can be disjointed though.

I've not been as productive in the last year due to medical issues, but I'm hopeful things are improving and I'll start dumping a ton of stuff more regularly as soon as I'm able.
