I went by my favorite barn in southern Minnesota on Saturday morning and was pleasantly surprised with the fall colors I ran into.

i love the colors. I don't know about where the barn should be, I don't mind center placement, but that looks like it just needs something, like maybe horizontal. Whatever, you wouldn't want to lose those colors. You done them just right!

I was a little troubled with the vertical shot too. Here's another pic I took with the barn less centered.

I think they both look nice. I maybe have a preference for the second one. I definitely dont' think the barn is too centered. The barn isn't the subject, it's the colors, IMO. But a little more space is welcoming in the second shot.
Very pretty... weird season up here this year. Colors just don't seem as pleasant as recent years. But I'm not complaining, I biked 20 miles tonight in shorts and a t-shirt!!!

The colors in both are great but the extra space and wider view do it for me.

It's better to be hated for who you are than to be loved for who you're not.

Good job.
OK, I re looked at the pic on KARE11, it's not yours. But it looks alot like it.
It was sent in by KPOPPLE.
Do you know this person?
Sorry about the confusion.

Dave,
Funny you mentioned the picture on the news. I received a call from my father 30 sec. after that picture air on TV. He thought I was using an alias.:D
I don't know the person who sent in the pic to Kare11. I noticed they took their picture from the road in order to get the trees more in the background. If you or anyone else interested in taking the same shot (5 miles south of Red Wing on 61) I'd recommend taking it from the railroad tracks to get a closer and higher view.
