My daughter would like some critique of her images. (I asked if she wanted critique, or just put them in the "showing off" sections...she said "critique". :)

She took these with her mum's Canon IXUS95iS.

This first one has a story:

"What's this picture, Ruby?"
"it's my dress...well, it was MEANT TO BE a ladybird, but he flew off!"

This second was also taken on the IXUS. Trying to teach her focus and not cropping off bits. This one has been cropped by me a little, and slight PP, but nothing major.

Congrats on the 5 year old for having a great interest in photography

first one, nothing to critique as there is no subject

second one, looks like focus went to the arm

Keep shooting and posting, only way to improve!

The first one, the subject is the comment she made...t'was a joke. ne_nau.gif

Second one, thanks...she is working on the focus thing...when the IXUS focusses itself, it doesn't always get it right, so showing her the single focus point, rather than the clever face recognition thing the camera has. :)

I hope so...it's a great hobby, and some great teaching points for her, too. :)

    Great job DAD.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice pictures, #1 orange/red is solid plus as Bend The Light said, the comment is the subject, and #2 looks fine for a 5 year old photographer.
    Keep her shooting,:photo:photo

Thank you. I will pass on your comments to Ruby. :)
I hopefully will spend some more quality time with her in a shared hobby. Not that we don't spend time now, of course, but with a shared interest as well, it'll be double-great! :)

    Howdy,

You'll have to pass the Compliments on to Ruby.

I love the Color, and the attempt at capturing the Ladybug on her
    dress was there.

And also Kudos on the Second shot for now being fearful of the Hawk, and capturing
    such a menacing pose.

I think you two will have a long and loving Hobby together, I know it must
make you Very Proud!!!! and I agree, it's such a wonderful passion and it only
seems to grow stronger as the years go by.

Please give Ruby my Best, from Texas :D:D:D
    Take care,

Thank you, Panther from texas. I will let Ruby know your comments. I'm hoping we can get out later this week with the cameras, and we also bought an annual pass for the wildlife park, so we plan a few trips there for her to practice. :)

    Cheers.
