I am new to Smug Mug. I edit and export using Lightroom. Because I don't know what size prints my customers will be ordering, how do I know what size I should export them as? I want to make sure that if they order a 4 x 6 and/or an 8 x 10 that the entire image is shown so that a lot of unnecessary cropping does not need to be done. I want the entire image to be available.

We always suggest uploading the full sized images, if at all possible. This gives so many more options. Including the option of "zooming in" using cropping. So you will want to Save or Export Full-Sized JPEGs. LR offers this as a built-in preset. "File > Export with preset, or click the Export button." This is the best quality setting. Here is a link to our minimum resolution chart. Help You will want to make sure your photo resolution meets, or exceeds, these minimums. For the print sizes you wish to offer.
You can also set up a proof delay period. http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/93355 Which allows you to Replace photos if you wish. But the original uploads, will still need to meet the resolution minimums to be ordered. That is you can replace a low resolution file with a higher resolution version. But the low res version must be of adequate resolution for the size ordered.
I hope this helps. If you have further questions. Please contact us at the Help Desk
