Nigella seeds

Got a bit bored with the wind and rain yesterday so had a look at the seeds from some nigella flowers in the garden. The seed pods are pretty big (about an inch diameter)- the seeds are also fairly big for flower seeds (about the size of onion seeds) but had interesting patterns/textures on them. Taken at 4:1 FF and focus stacked using zerene stacker.

The textures are very interesting. Just proves great images can be achieved from practically any subject matter.

Very interesting details Brian, I am waiting for an alien to pop out any second . How many stacks and what aperture did you use?

Great photo, really like looking at it. One question though, what do you think caused that brownish spot on the closest seed. Right in the middle. Is that just on the seed itself or is it some kind of reflection? Or of course it may be my screen somehow but I dont think so. Anyhow, always love spending time viewing your photos.

PhotoAspen - shot at f8 and used about 11 shots in the stack.

Dirquist - the marks were on the seed itself- it appeared to be slightly unripe.
