very old bicycle

I came across this very old bicycle in Quabbin Reservoir yesterday, used to be the old town of Dana, the road now runs into the water.. looks like this bike was just parked there while the owner went for a walk...

    Interesting picture. Does look a bit like time stopped.

    But am curious about the darker area on the left side of the image. Shadow, or something else? Distracting to my eye.

    I was wondering the same. Then I realized it is supposed to be a ghost image right? The long dress and old timey boots. Interesting shot!

    Really neat! I was too busy trying to identify the bicycle to notice your ghost, at first... the bicycle is a neat find. It's probably from between 1900 and 1940, although it's too far gone to really tell. The sprockets on the chain ring are for a 1" pitch chain, which was used around that time.
