Since you're one of my biggest BKG b**lbusters , I take this as high praise indeed.

I like the exposure, everything except for the OOF portion.. but it is strictly because i'm not a huge fan of bokeh that 50mm creates.
#3 is the best imho.

We have a blast together trying different things and she actually chases me for shoots (not that I run that hard). I'm old enough and ugly enough not to threaten any 20 something.
She also knows I don't much care what wardrobe she chooses, will never press her to show more skin than she wants and that, if she ever does have a "wardrobe malfunction" (which has happened) that image will never see the light of day.

Agnieszka - that one looks different becausse I moved the OCF to the other side (camera right) and the sun was on that side also so the left side ended up darker than the others. I forgot I had the flash at 1/16th and didn't adjust it. Then I kinda liked it because it was different so I left it that way.
Number 3 seems to be a winner though.

I'm thinking have her four steps forward from background, centered, vertical, shooting from a slightly elevated position. Bring in the dream.
Stay away from the busy backgrounds - that bokeh renders harsh.

Definitely a quantum leap with all of these recent shots, John (in both threads), especially in terms of getting some real energy into the shots and poses. So much more engaged and, therefore, more interesting.
I like 1, but I feel like the focus might have hit her beads rather than her eyes. Btw, on my copy of the 50 1.4, it is gorgeous at about 2.2. Yeah, you REALLY have to be careful with your focus points (one of the many reasons I ponied up for a 7d - those extra focus points seriously come into their own when you're shooting shallow!), but it can nail gorgeousness.
Really great to see you trying new things. Is she happy with them too?
We're both pretty happy with the movement idea in the other set too.
