Re-Organizing Galleries & Links

Howdy,
I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this but I'll ask anyways because I'm hoping there is a solution....

If I change the main Category of a gallery, do all the old links stop working?

Essentially I have 2 galleries in a "Weddings" category with no sub-category. Currently I have a "Weddings" link in my nav bar. I'm about to shoot a reunion and I don't have a link in my nav bar that would work for the reunion.

I was going to use the "Events" category for Reunions and move all my Weddings galleries into the Events category (and possibly sub-category Weddings).
I want to change my nav-bar to say "Events" and put both Weddings and Reunions under "Events".

If I move the Weddings galleries to the "Events" category, will all the old links, that I've passed out to clients, stop working?

Hello,

When you change the Category of a gallery, the old links will still work. The person who clicks them should be redirected to the new link. Here's an example of one. I have moved this gallery form the Weddings category into the event category on this site: http://richw-t3.smugmug.com/Weddings/Maggie-and-Sean/Honeymoon/15007077_54bfmm

Notice the redirect taking place in the address bar

Sure, if you have all of your wedding sub categories and galleries in the events category, you would then want to link your navbar to the category page.

you should be just fine by changing the category in which the gallery is in. The redirect should work seamlessly.
