Found this all black digger wasp exploring one of the sunchairs in the garden yesterday. Took some shot series and then stuck my finger under it's nose and it happily walked on. All shots have some focus stacking- either by hand or using zerene stacker.

These have homes on the same tree stump as the Ectemnius sp digger wasps and like them seem to come in 2 sizes. The stump is about 3 feet away from the sunchair. Don't understand "Lucky to find one Jacobs a rest" ?

I often try to get them on my finger if they have sat through a photo session without being too disturbed.
