Still Mulling Over Advertising Options

I'm curious if any of you have experimented with lead generating websites. Like WedPlan, or any of the others who send you leads and you either pay monthly for all leads or pay by the lead. If so, how successful have you been actually generating enough business to justify the expense. Do real clients use these services?

I know that word of mouth and personal referrals seem to be the best source of leads, but I'm alway looking to expand on this. As a relatively new business (2years) I would like to generate leads much quicker than I do.

Sign up for www.ourweddingday.com <-- that will let you sign up then it sends you leads that you pay for, but the big flaw... they put the brides first and last name in the email to you. (facebook them and say hi) thats worked for me a couple times

I pesronally don't like paying for leads, because you are now 1 of 20 paying 2.00 for that lead, and she will pick probably noone from that list and browse on her own.
