Print marking help

Is there a way I can take my signature and turn it into a print mark that will automatically stay in the same place (bottom right) of a photograph no matter what size print someone would order, or do I need to create a seperate print mark image for each size print available. I.E. a seperate print mark for 4x6, 5x7, 8x10 etc...

I guess I am trying to find out if there is a script or anything that tells the printmark to stay some many pixels/inches/mm from certain edges of the image on the final crop that a customer would order. That way I can just upload the full version of an image instead of uploading many variants of images in different sizes to get a print mark in the correct spot.

The signature is already digitized. I have it not only as a brush in photoshop which is how I use it on images now, but also in .tif, and png formats.

Thanks!

Roy

    Hi Roy,

Our Pro account comes with an automated printmark feature:
    http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/93344-printmarks
You just create a specific printmark file to the specs given and once set up, it would be automatically applied to orders from galleries where you enabled the printmark setting in the gallery settings > printing section.
We recommend to save your printmark with PNG so that the transparency is retained. We don't support TIF.

If you make sure to enable our proof delay feature, you could remove printmarks from individual items ordered. You can't add printmarks after the order was placed. That's something you do in the gallery settings prior to an order being placed.

    Thanks for the reply!

I am a pro member. I have read the smugmug tutorial on the printmark, and the only recommedation it has is to make the print mark image 1500 pixels wide. It may just be me, but that seems very vague. I mean what about height? Do I just take my png of my signature and no matter what the height of that image is just expand it or shrink it to 1500 pixels wide depending on existing size of the png file, and no matter what it just works? Is is really just that simple?

I am just so confused over it Laughing.gif. headscratch.gif

There are so many good help topics out there on other customization subjects, and all I could find (at the time I searched) just pointed back to the one that said it recommended 1500 pixel width and that was pretty much it.

Okay I created a png file out my existing file to the spec of 1500 pixels wide. I went thru the process of making it a print mark and the demo picture looked nice with it sitting on the bottom right corner, etc.

I went to a gallery real quick and went thr u the process of order ing a print in various sizes. When I went to adjust/crop at the order screen the print mark was down to the bottom right off my picture for a 5x7 size, but off the crop window. I would have to move the crop window down for it to include the printmark? That would not work for some images as you would end up cutting off heads... Maybe even though it shows the printmark down in the bottom right but off the crop window is just a visual glitch, and it would still adjust and add it to the bottom right of wherever it would end up being cropped? Just that we do not see it on the order screen?

*EDIT: I think I solved the issue. The Printmark option is nice!
