I went out on a little walk today with a friend who has just got himself a dSLR. He wanted to go with someone with a little knowledge of photography...well, since I have little knowledge of photography, i went with him! ;)

We found some ducks, and the challenge was to get the ducks in flight, or at least with wings spread. Here are a couple or three of mine.

Incidentally, I have a Natural History competition coming up...i.e. living beasties or plants in their natural habitat. Think any of these would do me any good in that?

    All the usual caveats of comps - size of comp and No/quality of entries + judges preferences etc.

    For waterfowl, the first 2 bgs don't make me think 'natural habitat'.
    The last 3 aren't sufficiently different from other similar shots that could be entered.
    Very nice water texture on the last 2 and with nicer light + much lower pov I think would stand a better chance.

    All imo of course :)
