It was an interesting evening in Yosemite, drove through one heck on a hail storm just before getting into the park.

Here's a shot right after it ended

The clouds came in and sat right on top of Half Dome

and then for the finale... Moonrise

Although it was more fun in Yosemite with a group of dgriners, I just never tire of this place.

    Great moonrise Ed. thumb.gif

Be careful on those mountain roads after a storm. Looks like they could get real slick and nasty.

Nice pictures Ed! When were you there? I hung out on Tioga Road on Saturday. Saw sunset from Olmstead Point, but it looked like Glacier Point was the place to be.

    Wow!!!
The moonrise over the clouds really rocks my world! All of your pics are awesome (and I know what you mean about Yosemite!). Looks like the roads above the valley (Tioga and Road to Glacier Point) will be closed after this weekend...darn!!! Yosemite is wonderful any time of year...my faves...Spring, Autumn and Winter (too hot and crowded in Summer...but we still go, Laughing.gif!). Great set of pics, Ed. You sure have the eye for great comps of beautiful scenes...lucky you!!! ~Nee :)
ps. The moonrise sure is a great example of Hikin' Mike's quote, isn't it? Glorious!

The road should be open for a while. The snow acccumulated to about 1/4 inch and melted fast.

    Mike,

I thought they closed the roads after the first snowfall, regardless if it sticks or not. I'll still wanting to make the Tioga pass road trip, but it's not looking terribly likely this year (oh well...)
