'Golden Y' on apple twig

This is a golden Y moth on the tip of a twig of the apple tree. Got lucky that the leaves behind created a natural background rather than the space to the side which would have produced just a dark background.

The moth sometimes vibrated it's wings - I don't really know why they do this - whether it's a drying process from just leaving a pupae, or maybe a defensive action to warn off (photographic) intruders...

The camouflage was amazing - to even spot it was surprise enough!

Natural light only.

C&C as always.
