Reliable stats?

I frequently find myself amazed at the stats from my Smugmug hosted website.
I've never publicised my site but seem to regularly pull in hits of around 10 to sometimes over a 100 a day!

So I can't help but wonder if the stats are reliable? Surly they are but who is looking at my site??

Hook up Google Analytics on your site and you'll find out all sorts of interesting info about where your site traffic is coming from...

Your galleries are public and are indexed by major search engines. You can check the 'referrers' tab in your stats to see if photos are accessed from outside your site, like embedded on a forum or via image search engine. Click on the number of hits to see more details.

To see what gallery is most popular, you can click on the popularity tab. It'll show you what gallery received the most hits in your chosen time frame. Click on the gallery name to see details.

A Google search for your site name will reveal how many pages are indexed on Google alone for your address:

Depending on how popular your images are, you can see some really big numbers. My personal record set in August was over 45,000 views in one day. :ivar
