I bought this figurine from a yard sale primarily to understand how to control the location and orientation of lights. This was lit by one single 60-Watt REVEAL bulb on an ordinary table lamp housing. At 4 o'clock orientation Horizontal and 10:30 Vertical. Almost 12 inches away from the face of the figurine. One plastic white reflector at 8:30 horizontal orientation. Thank you very much for viewing.

Here is one more shot. This time, main light is coming from a window with venetian blinds to the left of the figurine. Fill light is to the right coming from the REVEAL 60-watt bulb on a regular table lamp housing.

Do enjoy what you come up with in your pictures. You do nice well each time. Not an easy thing. Your study and work prove themselves. Well done stuff.

Thank you very much, Michael. Still trying to learn some stuff in small steps at a time. Kind regards. thumb.gif

I like the third one, which has feeling the other two lack. Good work.

It's very interesting to see the differences a variation in light can produce as to bringing " life " to inanimate objects. It's nice, my friend, to follow along with you in your experiments with light and its effects.

You do understand, of course, that when you have accumulated and organized all this knowledge of lighting, you have to produce a comprehensive guide for all the rest of us.:D

    Take care,

    Tom

I like the formal look and light in the first one but I like the full length in the second. The third gives a warm, natural feel that is probably more realistic in wedding photos today. You are very informative and your photos are so interesting!!!!!

I vote for the 3rd one as well. If only we could move our subjects around like this ;-) Great use of lighting though.
