Most stressful session...EVER.

I took advantage of a session-less weekend and decided to (be nice) shoot my first ever session with my two sons. It seems to be so much easier to shoot other people than it is to photograph my own children. The boys did NOT want anything to do with being compliant, but we persevered and made out ok, I think. C&C always welcome.

Gorgeous boys! While I really do like the clean white of the first few, I find myself looking for contrast. His face and the wall are very close to the same color and he blends in. Would love to see him in a red or bright shirt. All in all, great stuff!

Man those images are worth every grey hair it cost you. Priceless portraits of extremely handsome young boys. The first few could use just a snap of contrast, but the set as a whole.. stellar!! LOVE the background.

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. I completely agree and not sure why it didn't jump out at me earlier. Definitely blends in with the wall on the first three. Thanks again! You ladies make me work to improve with each and every session and you are so appreciated.

Does this help at all? I just burned the background a bit to add a little contrast. Does it help or do nothing for you? I figured it was worth a try :)

LOVE the photos, you got a great eye for composition, I like your angles (besides #10), gotta say I love them all BUT - *in my honest opinion* I think you went a bit over board with the processing .... In MY opinion they're lacking a bit of color ... ESP the first 3 (+ you gotta watch out that white shirt, it got blown in a few spots).

Having said this, I think this is a truly beautiful set, I can't IMAGINE them complaining (haha), they look like happy troopers to me ;o)) If MY worst children session would have these results, I'd be happy! :D

Great series and I have the same problem.
I have a hard time doing photo session with my kid.
When my daughter did not like her photos from school I thought why
don't I start doing her school photos.

#12 is killer! I love the tip of the stick being in the focal plane with his eyes. Was that luck or expertise?

I wish I could claim expertise, but not quite :)
