In Praise of Older Models

So as much as I love Cindy, Katarzyna, Monika et al, the truth is that all those gorgeous 20 somethings just remind me that I'm SOOOOO over.:rofl

Last week I worked with Jenn, a 40 something who runs a health/beauty company. We had two concepts going in. One was to get her a "cornucopia" theme for use on her website. The other was a kind of retro look getting at the idea that 40 is NOT a death sentence to a woman being attractive.
Here are a couple from that day. Of course, clicking the first image will take you to the whole gallery.

4,5,6 are really nice. Love the background and her posing looks pretty comfortable. :). Not so much in the first couple.

John, I am also 'in praise of older woman' and have put my own up in Go Figure.
Your model here is smart and very attractive and nicely captured by your good self.

First two or so-so, and those after are better. I think part of the reason the first two suffer is you are shooting down on her, as if you were standing. This automatically gives it an ordinary look. 4-6 are strong because you shot at eye level. If you shoot above, get higher than you would standing for a different perspective. I also think 1-2 would have benefited with a picnic blanket. As is, the vegetable/fruit bowl looks more like an afterthought prop. To make it more dynamic maybe use a wide angle, get low, have her eating and have the bowl close to camera which will get distorted, not her.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I can't seem to get into Go Figure. Is there a secret password.

The password is in the text in the sub-forum description.
