Trade Canon 40D for Canon 10-22mm lens

Hi all. I posted an add to sell my Canon 40D body+battery on a local site. I didn't get any offers for cash but today I got an email from some guy who wants to do a trade with me. He's willing to trade his Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5 lens for my Canon 40D. I'm thinking about trading it in cuz I was gonna get a wide angle lens from the money I would've made by selling the 40D. What do you guys think?

    For similar used condition ratings the Canon 10-22, f3.5-f4.5 EF-S USM actually sells for more than the Canon 40D body.

    Will you be able to inspect the lens prior to purchase? Does that leave you with the 60D body?

    funny you mention that because the guy came back and said its not just simple trade but i have to pay him $300 extra.

    so obviously i'm not doing it anymore.
