HP Touchpad and Smugmug

So my brother gave me one of these as a present recently. :clap

And the primary reason I wanted one was because of its ability to work with flash natively, which works perfectly for reviewing videos or anything else on SM.

I'm not sure if there's any limitations on the ipad with working with SM, but the touchpad has none. :barb

Our homepage slideshow, gallery slideshows, and videos on iPad have been HTML5 for a long long time. They play beautifully on iPads.

Except all the Show Off items still use flash so viewing Smugmug stuff embedded into any other web-site via Show Off doesn't work on an iPad. And, I happen to have seen that Samir uses Smugmug flash embedded stuff in his forums.

Yep, I'm still using flash. The html5 slideshow is still lacking some options I use in the flash one. Plus, all the youtube and photobucket videos people post are using flash too, unless there's been any changes to those since I last checked.

I was very specific as to what uses HTML5 and what doesn't :D Thanks John!

You made it sound like everything related to Smugmug is hunky-dory on an iPad and that is not the case when it comes to sharing Smugmug content on other sites. So, in the interest of telling more of the whole story, I was specific about some things you didn't mention that do not work on an iPad. I think your answer should have been more complete.

Yeah, I got that sense too, but just took it as the i-centric slant that I've gathered over the years with SM. ne_nau.gif

I just wanted to put it out there for anyone that was considering or got their hands on one of these that it works perfectly 99% of the time. thumb.gif

It's not i-centric. You asked about iPads in post #1. But the cool thing is the things I mentioned will work on any html5 browser on any device.

We've got work to do on the embeds and some other things, for sure.

Actually, I never asked anything. headscratch.gif I simply stated that I didn't know about the i-devices, which you replied to, in my and John's opinion, with an overly optimistic view of SM's usability. John expounded on SM's i-device usability in relation to my workflow as well as his opinion of your reply.
