First shield bug I've seen... and my first Earwig.

Well, as the subject says, this is the first shield bug I've spotted this year. I seem to find one per year . Also, spotted my first earwig since getting my camera.. haha seriously. They seem to have been non-existent. It was residing within a poppy, so I plucked the poppy and moved to a more open area.

I've photographed Shield bugs before but it seems I only find one per year. hehe. The earwig most definitely is a new one for me. Ya know something, up close, they don't seem anywhere near as sinister as they look when viewed normally .
