Think I am getting a thing for ducks!

I would appreciate your thoughts on this image. I wasn't convinced of it myself, but then again, I like the way I caught the moment, the splash, etc. And if anyone knows what the duck is, that'd be a help, too. :)

All thoughts appreciated.

    Great timing! And ducks are cool! The wild ones can be very challenging to photograph as they're so shy. What looks like a cute duckie picture can mean a lot planning, stealth, luck! They make winters in the Northeast US so colorful and interesting. Enjoy your new interest!

    Thank you. I was very pleased with the splash and reflection. Less pleased qwith the colour of the water! :)

    Thank you. It certainly seems to be all ducks at the moment...off out with a novice photographer (even more novice than me!) today and we're going to the lake again! More ducks for sure! :)

    Nothing wrong with ducks, imo - there's still plenty of scope for 'different' images of even the most common ones ... with the advantage that you don't need to go trotting all over the world to get a half decent pic :)

    Good timing/catch, btw - and trust your outing will be fruitful ... (hope you've got gear for getting close to water level)
