Ottawa Landscapes, long post

I went out to the Ottawa wildlife refuge to pick up my photos from their recent contest. I was invited to go out and shoot, by local profesional nature photographer Sharon Cummins
It was intended to be a "sunset" shoot, but we started out early at 4:00 PM with the hopes of decent landscapes and maybe even a few birds.
There were a lot of birds about, but great closeups were unlikely as we were a traveling caravan of 4 vehicles.
If you were quick, a grb shot of a birds putting some distance between itself and the caravan could be had, but I missed most of them as I was driving
We did get to see a couple of mature bald eagles.
This guy was in a tree behind us. someone opointed him out and I managed a couple of shots out the car window, still in drive, but stopped.
By the time the sun was close to setting, we had stopped at the location Sharon had chosen to shoot the sunset from. Unfortuanatly all those nice puffy clouds we were seeing earlier were GONE.
Once it had set there were some nice soft colors to be had. The wind had calmed and the water smoothed out a bit.
The soft colors in the water attracted me so I tried a couple of tighter reflection shots. These two ended up being my favorite of the evening.
Again it was a fun time out taking photos with freinds. What could be better than that,
Thanks for looking.
