Keyword Problem

I've been having a problem assigning keywords to pictures. Every once in a while I'll get a picture that shows no keywords in details even though I assigned it keywords. If I use the Caption / Keyword tool the picture keywords are still shown as there. But if I hit save and check details the picture still shows no keywords and a keyword search will not find the picture.

I have to delete the picture and re-upload it and add the keyword to get it to work. In most cases the keyword generation is almost instantaneous, but when it doesn't work it is still not there a day later.

Here is an example of a picture I loaded earlier today and the keywords I assigned it do not show in details.

I would say let our indexing catch up, the keywords are assigned to the photo but just not being displayed yet.

Maybe, but if I upload a picture right after it. It's keywords will be there in seconds.

A gallery page doesn't auto refresh when keywords are indexed. Once the keyword indexing is done and you refresh the gallery page, it'll show the keyword. Uploading a photo to the gallery doesn't speed up keyword indexing.

It's a day later and the keyword indexing has still not "caught up". How long should I wait before I get concerned?

Actually, it sounds as if you used the caption/keyword tool in the meantime. If you select save in that tool while your photos are still queued for indexing, all that does is add your photos to the end of the queue. Depending on how many photos are awaiting indexing, it can take a while. I'd recommend that you just leave it be and once the photos are done indexing, you'll be able to use the keywords.

Note that the gallery description in your above linked gallery contains an incomplete tag. Please make sure to close all tags properly to prevent issues. Any not closed html tags may cause problems, even just in specific browsers.

That doesn't make sense. I can upload a picture right now and it will index it's keywords in seconds.
There is a problem here.

OK, I had to delete the file and upload it again after two days have gone by without the keywords indexing even though if you use the Keyword / Caption tool it shows they are there.
After deleting and re-loading the file the index was there in seconds. Now I feel the need to check the keywords on every file I upload.

You are hiding the keywords with CSS, if you remove the CSS you can see the keywords there on the photo.

That's not the problem. A keyword search only finally found that picture today!
Here's one I uploaded today. Go to my keywords and choose the first keyword "_all_pictures".
It's not there.

Can you take another look?

I toggled the 'hello smuggers' setting off and on in the gallery settings of the gallery. That should have taken care of it by re-indexing the gallery.

Hi Sebastian,

The keyword is there now but it took till today. Normally it only takes a few seconds to index.
If it doesn't do it right away it never does. I have to constantly monitor my pictures to make sure the keywords take.
It shouldn't be necessary to have you keep fixing it on your end.

I had the same issue. Still keyword indexes do not operate!

Is the que backed up? Only 1 0f 16 photos added this morning here show KW's yet.

... and only 5 of 16 are picked up by the date page?
