Did these yesterday morning. One off camera Speedlight with a shoot-through brelly.

Not sure dad's going to like this one. Can you say 17 going on 25?

Here is a lesson in attention to detail. It took this young lady a while to get comfortable. I found a spot with the sun giving some nice rim light on her hair and shoulders and was getting excited. Throwing out some one liners she gave me this genuine smile full of pure joy and I knew I got the shot. Imagine my disappointment when I saw the bracelets all bunched up on the wooden rail.:cry

This next one I think I may have posed her just a bit too masculine. Sure wish I could move the hand on her knee.

I think I'm starting to learn more from my mistakes than I am from my successes. Then again, that could be because I have more mistakes than the other! :D

Ha ha ha.. but learning from them is the key factor! ;)
I can (and usually do) critique my shoots to death, but I learn from them too (mostly what not to do next time- or what to watch out for more consistantly).

Fwiw- I think these are nicely done- great light, beautiful natural smiles. Yea, 3 is probably not my fav of the set, but like I always hear other people tell me- pick up the mistakes on the edit, and keep on shooting! :)

First off... what a beauty! I know what it's like to have been stricken with "THE CURSE OF THE PRETTY DAUGHTER" (*said in echo chamber).

The photos are really nice. Nice light and very genuine expressions. I like the first two a lot and I didn't even notice the bangal issue until you pointed it out. The last is not horrible but the post is a little square. Really nice set overall though.

Inspired me to make sure I bring my speedlight with me for our trip to Hawaii in two weeks. Be prepared to be bored with more photos of my wife. Hopefully the scenery will ease the pain for you guys a bit.

This girl couldn't look masculine if she tried :D

Seriously, Bryce, don't sweat the small stuff quite that much! Sure, we need to be detail-orientated, but I think the bracelets are a complete non-issue in #2 - nobody looking at that face and the fresh, fun expressio and energy in the shot is even gonig to NOTICE the bracelets until you point it out!!

Thanks mucho. And keep shooting I will.

Thank you sir! Once we got comfortable with each other, her warmth and exuberance did indeed show through.

I have a feeling that if you make sure and toss a few beach/swimsuit pictures from the Hawaii trip into the mix, the male population of this site will be neither bored, nor in pain!:D

Hmmm, wonder what's harder to deal with "Curse of the pretty daughter" or "Hot wife Malady"?:D

Good point! What did kind of amaze me about this girl though was how, depending on the angle of the shot, position of her head and her expression, she could go from looking like a 24 year old woman to a 15 year old little girl.

Well, thanks for that. Women are typically bothered by details like that more than men. Being as you don't see it as an issue lessens my pain somewhat.

And you're right, I'd most likely have less grey hair if I didn't sweat the small stuff so much.

    Thanks again.

Oh, and a note to those that might be interested, on the first image a white reflector was used camera left to block the direct sunlight from her face.
